Position Description
Under general direction, underwrites assigned risks. Analysis and recommendations including major underlying assumptions, decision-making processes and conclusions are reviewed by senior underwriters or management, except for risks fitting within risk model which will be handled directly.
70 % - Underwrites assigned risks. Within authority, prepares quote letter, or outside of authority, reviews submission analysis and recommends rates to the supervisor.
10 % - May make independent sales calls to market and cross-market products.
20 % - Develop underwriting skill through on-the-job training and participation in training courses.
Position Requirements
1-3 years of relevant professional experience; Insurance experience preferred.
Working knowledge of financial statements and analysis.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
