We are seeking an Aviation OEM Sales Manager for our headquarters in greater Kansas City. In this role you will be responsible for developing growth of selected OEM customers, managing strategic relationships, and advocating the customers objectives and requirements to internal stakeholders. This individual will initiate and cultivate successful customer relationships, maximize partnership potential, and drive to consistently exceed customer expectations. In this role you will:
Identify and develop opportunities for our product lines with both new and current Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers (aircraft and/or rotorcraft manufacturers)
Identify opportunities for expanding our product line to serve OEM market needs
Develop persuasive, well-organized, and informative proposals in response to customer requests; solicit and coordinate other internal resources in support of these efforts process
Perform detailed program and pricing analysis in support of decision making process
Lead customer contract negotiations and coordinate other internal resources as necessary
Contribute customer, market, and product knowledge to internal cross-functional teams
Act as a customer advocate within the organization for your customers as appropriate
Act as the primary point of contact for each customer under your management
Maintain frequent contact with customers, visit customers on a regular basis, and plan/organize sales and coordination meetings
Develop and present detailed product and system presentations
Develop strategic plans for each of your customers, focused on annual and long term growth
Forecast product requirements for each of your customers on a monthly basis
Participate in trade shows and seminars to demonstrate products and articulate competitive benefits of Garmin products and systems
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as, Marketing, Business, Engineering or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university, or a field relevant for successful performance of the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include:
Minimum 5 years in the aviation industry with a minimum of 2 years aviation sales or marketing experience
Must possess excellent customer service skills and a proven track record for providing exemplary customer service
Must be a fair negotiator focused on mutual success
Demonstrated proficiency solving problems through analysis and best practices
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be organized, self motivated, accurate and possess the ability to work quickly
Demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
Demonstrated proficiency using Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Must possess the ability to maintain flexibility to travel (50% of time or greater)
Candidates with the following are preferred:
Minimum of 10 years in the aviation industry with detailed knowledge of turbine/piston aircraft and systems
Thorough operational knowledge of Garmin products
In-depth understanding of the avionics competitive landscape, products and systems
Extensive knowledge of aviation OEMs and their product offerings
Active pilot with instrument rating
